Description |
This is a photograph featuring construction of the 51st Avenue Station development, a mixed commercial and residential building, located at 9440 South 51st Avenue. This development was built on the former site of Fernwood Smith Cleaners at 5114 West 95th Street, the A & B Oak Lawn Currency Exchange located at 5112 W. 95th Street, and Millie's Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe which was located in back of the currency exchange at 5108 West 95th Street. This photograph is taken from the north side of the construction site looking south from the backyard of a private home on Tulley Avenue. The Hollywood Video store, located at 5141 West 95th Street in the Harris Bank Commercial District strip mall, is partially visible in the background. The stop sign at 95th Street and Tulley Avenue is visible under the arm of the yellow bulldozer seen clearing the construction area. The building in the background is Krauss' Gaslight Lounge located at 5130 West 95th Street. The Lounge's black satellite dish partially in view overhead. |
