Description |
This is a slide of damage caused by the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. The color images shows a row of four ruined buses from Suburban Transit Company with a damaged neighborhood behind them. Two National Guard solders can be seen on image right and a rescue worker can be seen on the left. People are wandering the streets in the neighborhood. There is an oral history recording with Dean Cashman, accession# 2013.019.001, where Cashman talks about working the tow truck for Battle Service, 4600 Southwest Highway, where he would haul the damaged buses to the Suburban Transit yard on 95th Street. |
