Description |
This is a photograph of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a view of the southwest corner of the intersection of 94th Street and Major Avenue. Arvid and Lucille Anderson's home located at 9400 S. Major Avenue was totally destroyed in the storm. The Andersons were at home when the storm hit and survived, having taken cover in the basement. Snow is seen covering the debris. About 3 inches of snow fell two days after the tornado hit. |
