This is a photograph of the eighth grade class in the classroom at Cook Avenue School, circa 1923. The black & white image shows the children are all seated at individual desks and the teacher standing in the background on the image left. The classroom is decorated with streamers across the ceiling and light fixtures. A map and glass fronted bookcase are seen along the wall. Two busts, possibly of Roman soldiers, sit on shelves between the windows. The teacher is Wiley Simmons, and the students are unidentified. |
