Description |
This is a photograph of Cecil Burns. Mr. Burns walked from Dallas, TX to Chicago for the 1933 World’s Fair carrying half a bale of cotton on his back. This was done in part to prepare for the upcoming pro football season, which he hoped to spend with the Chicago Cardinals. Cecil stopped at Oak Lawn on the corner of 98th Street and 52nd Avenue and gave out pictures of himself. The photograph captures him arriving at the fair in Chicago. |
