Description |
This is a photograph of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a view of the basement of Arvid and Lucille Anderson's home located at 9400 S. Major Avenue after the tornado. The home was demolished in the storm. The Andersons were at home when the storm struck and survived, having taken cover in the basement. Wreckage and debris fill the basement. A bathtub can be seen standing upright against the foundation. Snow is seen covering the debris. About 3 inches of snow fell two days after the tornado hit. |
