Description |
This is a slide of damage caused by the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. The color image shows a street where rescue work is starting . The roofs are heavily damaged and mound of tree limbs line the street, next to parked cars. Several National Guard soldiers can be seen on the image left and men wearing hard hats can be seen on the image right. Ray Murphy believes that the men might be going door to door marking what homes could be salvaged and which ones had to be demolished. |
