Description |
This is a photograph featuring a view of a bulldozer scooping up debris at the Deplaris home located at 9429 S. Tulley. The home was demolished on June 4, 1999 to provide parking for businesses along the north side of 95th Street. The building in the background housed A & B Oak Lawn Currency Exchange which was located at 5112 West 95th Street, Millie's Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe which was located at 5108 West 95th Street, and the Fernwood Smith Cleaners located at 5114 W.95th Street, on the northeast corner of Tulley Avenue and 95th Street. This entire building was eventually demolished in 2001 to make way for the 51st Avenue Station development which includes stores and a condominium building. In the background on the right, the east facade of Krauss' Gaslight Lounge located at 5130 W. 95th Street is visible. |
