Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Christmas Parade in 1978. It features several young people dressed as clowns pulling a wagon that holds a Tigger inflatable figure. A person dressed as Winnie the Pooh strolls alongside. The group is moving westbound on 95th Street just west of the railroad crossing, which is visible in the background, near 51st Avenue. More parade floats follow. Traffic has been diverted to south side of 95th Street with one lane in each direction to accommodate the parade participants. The Grobe Realty office, located at 5041 W. 95th Street, is partially in view in the background of the photograph. The exit sign for Oak Lawn Shell Car Wash and Detail Center exit sign, located at 5105 W. 95th Street, is seen in the right of the photograph. This business has since closed and the building demolished. |
