Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Pet Parade in 1978. The parade was sponsored by the Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce. It began at 95th Street and Mansfield Avenue and traveled east to 52nd Avenue. This photograph features a view of a woman with a small child wearing a cowboy hat and pulling a wagon carrying a cage in which there appears to be two geese. The pair has just made the turn off eastbound 95th Street to southbound 52nd Avenue. Spectators are on the southwest corner of the intersection in front of Mal's Men's Shop located at 5200 West 95th Street. In the background, the Oak Lawn Community High School marching band is making its way down 95th Street. Businesses seen in the background on the north side of 95th Street include the 5210 Office Building, a medical offices building at 5208 West 95th Street. |
