Description |
This is a photograph featuring the home located at 9126 S. 54th Avenue after a snowfall. The view is looking at the back of the home (on the left). A wooden picnic bench can be seen in the yard and the building to the right is an old chicken coop. The home was purchased by Viola and Charles Bakutis in 1953. Today it is know as the Chapman House (Harker Farm House), a historical landmark that was built in 1924. The home was built on vertical poles and had no foundation. There was a cellar in the rear of the house that contained a coal burning furnace and coal bin. Bakutis later put in a foundation and enlarged the cellar. |
