Description |
This is a photograph of the start of the construction of the 51st Avenue Station development, a mixed commercial and residential building, located at 9440 South 51st Avenue. This development was built on the former site of Fernwood Smith Cleaners at 5114 West 95th Street, the A & B Oak Lawn Currency Exchange located at 5112 W. 95th Street, and Millie's Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe which was located in back of the currency exchange at 5108 West 95th Street. This photograph features a drilling rig and backhoe working on the site. Building materials and debris are piled outside of the foundation. In the background, the Grobe realty office, located at 5041 West 95th Street, is partially visible in the background on the right. A car can be seen moving eastbound on 95th Street. |
