This is a photograph of the M5 Stuart Tank at the Oak Lawn War Memorial on 95th Street near Columbus Drive. The black & white image shows the tank mounted onto a concrete pad. The phrase Oak Lawn ILL is printed in white near the lower left corner, indicating this photo was used in a publication. This tank replaced an earlier World War 1 French Renault tank which was removed as part of a national scrap drive for World War II fundraising. This image was used as an EKC real photo postcard, accession #2010.043.001. |
