Description |
This is a photograph of the intersection of 95th Street and Southwest Highway taken from just west of the intersection looking to the east. On the left (north) side of the street, Shoot's Lynwood Lounge is located on the northwest corner of the intersection. Slightly east and north is the Fisher's Motel, located at 5920 West 95th Street (and Southwest Highway). A Standard gas station on the northeast corner of the intersection and the Red Barn Drive-In, located at 5840 W. 95th Street, are visible. One of the street level traffic lights of the intersection can be seen in the right of the photograph. Behind it and to the right (south), the sign for the Jewel Store located at 5807 W. 95th Street is visible. A Shell gas station on the southeast corner of the intersection is partially seen and the Host House Restaurant at 5955 West 95th Street is to the right (south) on the southwest corner of the intersection. The businesses at this intersection would be totally devastated on April 21, 1967 when it was hit by a tornado. |
