This is a slide of the aftermath of the 1967 Oak Lawn tornado. It features a view of Illinois National Guard vehicles and Guardsmen staging near the south end of Oak Lawn Community High School. Scattered debris can be seen in the foreground. Soon after the disaster, the National Guard was called in to prohibit unauthorized people from entering the Village and to stop looting and other crimes. |
