This is a photograph of a washstand with showers in the rear at the HQ and General Hospital where Fred Triezenberg was stationed during World War II, somewhere in the Pacific Theater. An unidentified man stands on the left while another unidentified man is washing his hands. Triezenberg was working as a maintenance man at Simmons School located at 95th and Ridgeland Avenue when he enlisted in the Army on January 22, 1942. He served until November 2, 1945. Triezenberg was assigned to a medical unit and was stationed in New Guinea and Australia for part of his enlistment. Triezenberg's brothers, George and Simon, also served in the armed forces during World War II. After the war, he returned to his work as a maintenance man at Simmons School until his retirement in 1980. |
