This is a photograph, published in the Chicago Sun-Times, of a weekend fishing event at Southwest Pool in Oak Lawn. The black & white image shows a group of men and children standing on the pool deck, fishing rods in hand and lines in the water. Cars and neighborhood homes can be seen in the far background. The Oak Lawn Park District stocked the pool before draining it for the season, charging 50 cents for children under age 14 and a dollar for people aged 15 and older to participate in the fishing derby. |
