Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Centennial Parade in 1982. It features a float sponsored by the Holiday Inn of Oak Lawn moving westbound on 95th Street, just past the railroad crossing near 51st Avenue. The float features a couple sitting in a flower covered carriage pulled by two life-sized black horses. A railroad crossing gate can be seen behind the carriage and the back of a billboard is above the horses. Spectators are lining the south side of 95th Street to watch the parade. The event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of when Oak Lawn was first subdivided. |
