This is a photograph of the construction of the Metra commuter parking lot at 95th Street and 51st Avenue. This view is looking to the south from inside the construction site near 51st Avenue. Workers, trucks, and equipment can be seen on the site where some of the cement curbs have already been constructed and marker flags are still in place. In the background, the railroad tracks are running from left (northeast) to right (southwest) just in front of construction fencing along 95th Street. Businesses on the south side of 95th Street include Bridal for Less at 4961 West 95th Street, Country Companies Insurance at 5003 West 95th Street, B & D Refinishers Supply Inc. at 5005 West 95th Street, Disteldorf Ltd. Certified Public Accountants located at 5017 W. 95th Street, the Village Professional Arts building which included the Village Pharmacy located at 5019 W. 95th Street, and a doctor's office at 5021 W. 95th Street. The white building seen in the background on the left behind the work truck and also on the south side of the railroad tracks is the former Max Madsen Mitsubishi dealership located at 5000 West 95th Street. |
