Description |
This is a photograph of members of the Johnson-Phelps VFW Post #5220 marching westbound on 95th Street during the Oak Lawn Round Up Parade in 1953. People can be seen lining the north side of the street to watch the parade. People are also on the roof of Country Store Liquors (later Dewey's Tavern) located at 5248 West 95th Street. Also in the background are Phil Krauss' Yankee Lounge located at 5256 W. 95th Street (formerly Hilgendorf home at 5240 West 95th Street), the Sinclair Gasoline sign at Safeway Motor Sales and Service located at 5252 W. 95th Street, and Nick's Tavern (formerly Schultz's Tavern and Jim's Tap Room) located on the northeast corner of 95th and Cook Avenue at 5220 W. 95th Street. |
