Description |
This is a photograph from the 1976 American Bicentennial parade held in Oak Lawn. Pictured are Oak Lawn Community High School cheerleaders leading the high school marching band westbound on 95th Street, at about 51st Avenue. Spectators can be seen lining both sides of the street. On the left, a police officer manages the crowd on the north side of 95th Street. In the background on the right, the railroad crossing gates can be seen in the distance while the Oak Lawn Shell Car Wash and Detail Center, located at 5105 W. 95th Street, is partially in view on the right side (south) of 95th Street. This building has since been demolished. |
