Description |
This is a photograph of the Oak Lawn Centennial Parade in 1982. The event celebrated the 100th Anniversary of when Oak Lawn was first subdivided. This photograph features a view of the Medinah Shriners Brass Band. Shriners International is a fraternity organization that is an offshoot of the Masons and are best known for their Shriners Hospitals for Children. The band has just crossed the railroad tracks near 51st Avenue. In the background, spectators can be seen along the right (south) side of 95th Street. |
