Description |
This is a photograph featuring a view of Charles Bakutis and his son, Chuck standing in the driveway of the home located at 9126 S. 54th Avenue. The view is looking down the driveway from west to east. The home, seen in the left of the picture, was purchased by Viola and Charles Bakutis in 1953. Today the home is know as the Chapman House (Harker Farm House), a historical landmark that was built in 1924. The home was built on vertical poles and had no foundation. There was a cellar in the rear of the house that contained a coal burning furnace and coal bin. Bakutis later put in a foundation and enlarged the cellar. A car of the era is seen parked on the street and homes on the east side of 54th Avenue are partially visible. |
