Description |
This is a photograph of a building formerly housing two businesses, located at 5402 and 5408 West 95th Street, used to stand. The building was purchased by the Village and demolished for purposes of redevelopment. The white home seen in the background was located at 9428 South 54th Avenue. This home and the remaining buildings on the left were all eventually demolished and the area redeveloped. A backhoe is working on the site behind the red truck parked on 95th Street. A man is seen standing behind the truck watching traffic. 54th Avenue is closed off with barricades and another work truck can be seen parked farther down the street. On the left (west), at 5410 West 95th Street, is Wind Records. To the right (east), Oak Lawn Bible Church, located at 9435 S. 54th Avenue is seen in the background along with private homes located on the block. |
