Description |
This is a photograph featuring a view storefronts in the 5243-5253 area of 95th Street between Cook and 53rd Avenue. A traffic light is on the southwest corner of the intersection. Most of the storefronts are empty with "For Rent" signs in the windows. Signs on the west facade of the building indicate that the S&S Surplus Store and the Southwest Suburbanite newspaper once had space there. Field's Restaurant, located at 5255 West 95th Street, is just partially visible in the very right of the photograph. Businesses east of Cook Avenue between 52nd Avenue and Cook Avenue include Oak Lawn Office Supply at 5211 West 95th Street, Stewart's Variety Store at 5217 West 95th Street, the Mode O' Day Frock Shop at 5233 West 95th Street, and Seaboard Finance at 5239 West 95th Street. Shoppers used parking spaces in front of businesses along the street. |
