Description |
The 1982 Oak Lawn Centennial celebrated the 100th anniversary of when Oak Lawn was first subdivided. This is a photograph of the Centennial Parade on 95th Street moving westbound on 95th Street near Minnick Avenue (53rd Court) It features the Oak Lawn Youth Commission float, in the right of the photograph, being followed by Oak Lawn Kiwanis Club float. Larsen's Hall, formerly located at 5305 W. 95th Street (black roof), and the Harker House, an historical landmark that was built in 1870 and located at 5317 West 95th Street (white roof), are partially visible behind the floats. A sign on the side of the building advertises Delores Interiors located at 5307 West 95th Street. In the right background is Pat Harvey Women's Apparel located at 5351 West 95th Street. Spectators can be seen watching the parade from both sides of 95th Street. |
