Charles Domaika v. The Board of Fire & Police Commissioners of the Village of Oak Lawn, 1974, 1974 |
Accession Number |
2020.122.003 |
Object Name |
Record, Judicial |
Scope & Content |
A village police lieutenant filed a complaint for administrative review of an order of the village's board of fire and police commissioners suspending him for three days for filing a false police report. The Circuit Court, Cook County, F. Emmett Morrissey, J., sustained the order of the board, and the police lieutenant appealed. The Appellate Court, McNamara, P.J., held that the lieutenant's suspension was supported by evidence that, as a shift supervisor, he deliberately altered a report made by a policeman relative to the state of intoxication of a friend of the lieutenant who had been involved in an automobile accident.
