Program provided to the attendees of a minstrel show sponsored by Green Oak American Legion Post #757 at the Covington School. Minstrel shows were a popular, yet racially derogatory, form of entertainment in America that began in the 1830s. Although they declined in popularity after 1900, it wasn't until the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s the shows faded from the mainstream. |
