Scope & Content This item is a study conducted by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1996 and again in 2004. The purpose was to environmentally assess land located within Oak Lawn which, during the mid to late 1950s, hosted a C-53 Housing and Gunsite. This defense site encompassed thirteen acres and was one of twenty such sites in the Chicagoland area. With each assessment no environmental restoration was recommended.
